What is the most nutrient dense nut?

❌🧴 Don’t Get Poisoned by Your Sunscreen

Why didn’t our ancestors need to wear sunscreen or sunblock? Because, before the 1980s, the Earth used to have an ozone layer. Now, we need some extra protection. But we keep hearing that sunscreen is loaded with toxic chemicals. Is there a safer way?

Yes, there is! As an avid Californian, I’ve spent a lot of time researching my sunscreen for healthier, safer options. Here’s what I’ve found:

Safer Sunscreen Options:

  • Avoid sunscreens with harmful ingredients like retinyl palmitate and UV filters such as oxybenzone and homosalate which have been shown to disrupt the endocrine system.

  • Look for safer mineral-based sunscreen. Zinc oxide and Titanium Dioxide are safe and effective minerals for sun protection.

  • Use lotion, mists, or sticks as opposed to aerosol sprays. (The inhalation of the nanoparticles can irritate lung tissue and possibly trigger your body’s immune response.)

With a safer sunblock, you’re ready to soak in some rays! Here are a few more tips to make sure you stay safe:

Safe Sun Practices:

  • Avoid over-exposure to the sun during the peak hours of 10 AM to 2 PM, when the UV index is at its highest.

  • Limit direct sun exposure during these peak hours to 10-20 minutes. This is all the direct exposure you need to maximize your vitamin D3 production.

  • Take advantage of the time right after sunrise and right before sunset to gradually build up your exposure to the sun.

Enjoy the sun safely, and you’ll have a great start to the summer!

🙅‍♀️ AVOID These 3 Things Because They’re Guaranteed to Make Your Skin Look Older

If you missed my most recent video on this, here is what to stay away from to maintain more youthful skin (and body). Remember, your skin is your biggest organ and will show you if something is wrong.

Number 1: Cortisol Spikes: Erratic cortisol levels can age your skin prematurely. One great way to lower cortisol is with ashwagandha, found in Organifi Green Juice, which can reduce cortisol by 27.9%. The bonus? Your skin will look better too!

Number 2: Glyphosate: This harmful chemical is terrible for your health. To detox, I take Organifi’s Liver Reset, which includes Triphala, Dandelion Root, Milk Thistle, and Artichoke. It's an effective and affordable way to help your liver flush out glyphosate.

Number 3: Dehydration: Many people are chronically dehydrated. One of the best products to stay hydrated and benefit your skin is Organifi Glow. A friend told me he looks 10 years younger than his peers thanks to Glow. It contains Tremella mushroom, which has four times the hyaluronic acid of typical skincare products, along with Amla, Aloe Vera, Bamboo Silica, Pomegranate, Baobab, Coconut Water, Lemon, and Raspberry. It tastes great and is packed with electrolytes. For a summer glow-up, Organifi Glow is the way to go!

Speaking of hydration…

đź’¦ This is The Summer You Are Going To Stay Hydrated

75% of people are chronically dehydrated. In this day and age, how is that even possible?

Well, the more I look into it, the more I understand. Only about half of America has access to clean tap water, which is just shocking. I thought we were doing a lot better – but we’re not even in the top 10 countries for best water. Not even the top 15.

Yikes.

This is dangerous, people. Low hydration can cause fatigue, brain fog, bad moods, scattered memory, and more. Those are really just the light symptoms – lack of hydration ultimately leads to death, with a lot more unpleasant steps along the way.

Electrolytes boost hydration by transporting more water right into your cells – like VIP access for H20.

Here’s the cool part: You probably already have some of these in your home!

Here are some easy ways to add more electrolytes to your ordinary drinking water:

  • Remineralize with a pinch of high-quality sea salt or a few drops of trace mineral solutions

  • Add a squeeze of lemon or other citrus fruits

  • Add cucumber slices or watermelon cubes

  • Drink coconut coconut water with a little ginger

For my favorite blend of summer-perfect superfoods, try a daily glass of Organifi Glow. As I mentioned earlier, it includes hydrating ingredients like coconut water, aloe vera, tremella mushroom, and baobab fruit.

🩸 7 Herbs and Spices That Could Lower Blood Sugar

Why lower your blood sugar?

Generally speaking, it’s just a good idea for your overall health—especially your heart, eyes, brain, feet, and kidneys. Higher glucose levels are associated with heart disease, stroke, damaged blood vessels, obesity, lower immunity, and cognitive trouble.

So cutting back on the sugar is a great first step. What else can we do to lower blood sugar safely and naturally?

🤎 Cinnamon: May improve blood sugar levels by enhancing insulin sensitivity and slowing the breakdown of carbohydrates in the digestive tract. (PMID: 20923963)

đź«š Ginseng: Known for its potential to improve insulin sensitivity and reduce blood sugar levels, ginseng may help regulate glucose metabolism. (PMID: 6943541)

🌿 Milk Thistle: Contains silymarin, which may help reduce insulin resistance and improve glycemic control in people with type 2 diabetes. (PMID: 25050823)

🌱 Fenugreek: Rich in soluble fiber, fenugreek can help lower blood sugar by slowing down the absorption of carbohydrates and improving insulin function. (PMID: 24015701)

đź’š Amla: Traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine for type 2 diabetes, amla is believed to help lower blood sugar levels and improve lipid profiles. (PMID: 35624683)

🟢 Spirulina: This may help lower A1c levels in people with type 2 diabetes by enhancing insulin sensitivity and reducing inflammation. (PMID: 28615947)

🤍 White Mulberry: Naturally contains a compound that inhibits enzymes that break down carbohydrates, which helps prevent blood sugar spikes after meals. (PMID: 33858439)

🧷 Poison Diapers? Kudos, a company claiming to have the “cleanest” diapers in the world, has been sued in a class action lawsuit alleging false advertising. Independent testing shows unsafe levels of PFAS (forever chemicals), despite the company’s claims of being toxin-free, natural, and made from plant-based materials. Talk about a dirty diaper!

🪥 Poison Toothpaste, Too! A product specifically for kids is also facing a class action lawsuit, and for the exact same reason as stated above. Laboratory tests reportedly found that RiseWell children’s toothpaste contained more than 188 parts per billion of PFAS. PFAS are a group of synthetic chemicals known to be especially harmful to children.

🧪 Food Dye: Yet Another Poison? We’ve known for years that food coloring has negative health effects. Still, over 350 well-known American products contain unsafe levels of the stuff. And once again, you find these artificial colors in TONS of products aimed at kids, like candy, chips, and soda. Even small amounts can have crucial effects!

Ok, enough of the poison…

🍠 Curcumin: The Ultimate Hormone Balancer? A recent review of clinical studies shows that curcumin, the active compound found in turmeric, helps fight against inflammation and promote optimal hormone health. Curcumin can help regulate sex hormones, modulate stress hormones, and enhance cellular insulin sensitivity. Don’t forget to take your turmeric!

🪻Just Because It Smells Good… Doesn’t Mean It’s Healthy! Lavender is everywhere lately! Coffee drinks and foods infused with the flavor are popping up everywhere. However, many of these contain artificial flavoring instead of real lavender. Look for products with genuine lavender, like syrups and oils infused with the actual herb. Avoid items like Starbucks’ lavender drinks, which use flavors and food dyes instead of real lavender.

Congratulations to this week’s winners (Cory and MM) and thank you for your feedback! Keep an eye on your email, you have some Organifi goodies coming your way!
